In our first week in the second quarter, our lesson is all about Comparison and Contrast. A compare-and-contrast essay, then, analyzes two subjects by comparing them, contrasting them, or both. The key to a good compare-and-contrast essay is to choose two or more subjects that connect in a meaningful way. Compare is to examine (two or more objects, ideas, people, etc.) to note similarities and differences. While Contrast is to compare to show unlikeness or differences. We also learned the new Anglo-American Literature Icon Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is an American novelist, essayist, writer of a short story, and screenwriter. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is also known as F.Scott Fitzgerald. He is known for his novels depicting the flamboyance and express of the Jazz Age term. He published four novels, four collections of short stories, and 164 short stories. Francis Scott Key Fitgerald achieved a temporary popular success and fortune. He was born on September 24, 1896, and died on December 21, 1940 (He died at the age of 44).
The task we did is a quiz about our lesson. I learned that simile is a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind using "like" or "as". In addition to my learnings, I've learned that comparison refers to the process of identifying the similarities and differences between two things and contrast refers to identifying only the differences between two things. I've also known that comparing and contrasting text is a critical reading skill to acquire because it requires evaluating and synthesizing. I also learned about Anglo-American Literature Icon for this week. In this topic, I have a little difficulty at first but while doing journal I got to know it more. The highlight of the lesson is that knowing and understanding comparison and contrast. It helps us to know differences and similarities easier and also to use them correctly.

"Effort makes you. You will regret it someday ifyou don't do your best now.
Don't think it's too late but keep working on it.
It takes time, but there's nothing that gets worse
due to studying hard. You may get depressed, but
it's evidence that you are doing good."
