Quarter 2, Week 8 – Adverbs
Quarter 2, Week 3 – Factors Influencing a Selection
In week 3, we learned about Factors Influencing a Selection. These are the factors influencing a selection, text and culture, text and history, and text and environment. Culture could be a term that may refer to social behaviors, information, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of a certain group of individuals or races. Meanwhile, history is the entire series of past occasions associated with somebody or something. However, the environment is the environment or conditions in which an individual or any living thing lives or operates.
In our topic we also have our Anglo-American Icon in focus Walter Witman, is an American poet, essayist, and journalist, he is also a humanist that was part of the transition between transcendentalism and realism. Whitman is among the most influential poets in the American canon, often called the father of free verse. His work was controversial in its time, particularly his 1855 poetry collection Leaves of Grass, which was described as obscene for its overt sensuality. Walt Whitman spent his childhood in New York, where he was first employed at age 12 as a printer. He later held jobs as a newspaper editor and a schoolteacher. During this time he began publishing poems in popular magazines. The first edition of Leaves of Grass was printed in 185. Whitman was also included in the harry potter show.

Quarter 2, Week 6 – Rules in Capitalization and Use of Punctuation Marks
My Journal:
Our lecture in week 6 is all about Rules in Capitalization and Use of Punctuation Marks. Capitalization occurs when the first letter in a word is an upper case letter. Capitalization is the writing of a word with its first letter in uppercase and the remaining letters in lowercase. Skilled writers are stingy with capital. There are 14 punctuation marks. A punctuation mark is a mark or character used to punctuate, that is, to separate, elements of writing, such as sentences or phrases. In writing, we use punctuation marks like the commas and period in this sentence, to make things more manageable for a reader to understand.
We've given a quiz and made a journal about the topic. I discovered that marks of punctuation and capitalization benefit readers' understanding and interpreting sentences sufficiently. Some marks are required to prevent misreading and some are optional and depend on what the writer wishes to accomplish. For example, ending a sentence with an exclamation mark instead of a period. I didn't find the topic problematic, it's just kinda confusing. The highlight of the topic is that knowing and understanding the rules in capitalization will benefit each of us, students, to use it rightly.

And he was considered by numerous to be one of the greatest novelists in the English language. Henry James Sr. is the name of his father, whereas his siblings are William James who is a philosopher and psychologist and Alice James who is a diarist. Two of Henry James' famous works are "The Turn of the Group" and "The Representation of a Lady".
The activity we've done is a quiz about the topic. I learned that literary works are awesome offer assistance to develop and improve explanatory abilities. Analytical abilities like making connections, weighing evidence, questioning, taking note details and many more are the abilities that literary works can make us. I learned that literature itself had numerous distinctive definitions. Literature can be any collection of composed work, an art form, or whatever it is. Literature is classified according to whether it is poetry, prose, or drama, and such works are categorized according to historical periods, or their adherence to certain stylish features or genres. Literature is completely beneficial especially to us students. Learning literature can progress our communication abilities, progress vocabulary, writing, and talking abilities can engage, can be the source of historical views, can give an around the world view and endless more benefits of it. I don't find the topic hard. The highlight of the discussion is the Unchanging Values in the V.U.C.A. World.
